Real Brides: Amy

We've recently been in touch with Amy, another one of our lovely brides, to catch up on how her wedding day at Hogarths Hotel, Solihull went!

Opting for the gorgeous Hogarths Hotel to celebrate their big day, most of their wedding needs were planned and provided by the venue itself, making planning a little easier for the happy couple. With the big things under control, this couple took the smaller details into their own hands and opted for a DIY approach. This is a trend we are seeing more and more of with many brides nowadays taking the same approach, drawing their inspirations from things like Pinterest which provide different ideas for those that want a more hands on approach to their wedding. Not only does this help to keep those ever growing wedding costs down, but also allows a truely personal touch to your wedding celebration.

Amy made a grand entrance in a vintage style lace, Benjamin Roberts 2707 wedding dress but decided to have our seamstress customise her gown by removing the train, to give the dress more of a glamourous evening gown look, and we think she pulled it off perfectly!

Amy and James decided not to hire a photograpger and instead opted to utilise the photography skills of the guests at their wedding. This allowed them to create a really personal collection of images from all parts of their celebration and to get some lovely, intimate shots of their day.

As mentioned earlier, the DJ was included with Hogarths' wedding package. So, that meant that Amy could relax and not have to worry about bringing someone in to do the music. Like Amy, you could save yourself a lot of time and hassle if you look into hotels that provide the main things for you as a package deal. Then, all you have to sort out are the minor details. Then again, if planning is your thing then plan away! There are so many different ways to plan a wedding and you should do yours in whatever way your heart desires.

We caught up with Amy recently to ask her to give some advice for future brides. She advises that you should do what makes you and your future spouse happy because no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to please everyone.

Thank you Amy! We wish you all the best in your marriage and hope that you're enjoying married life together.

Until next time!
