A Walk Through Your Visit To Lief Bridal Boutique Birmingham
Here at Lief Bridal Boutique in Birmingham, we feel passionately about being there for our brides through every step of the bridal process. From the moment you cross our threshold the first time, to that super special cup of tea in the boutique when you come and tell us all about your big day (and hopefully share a photo or two!)
We love that we see you through the planning process and are always on hand to listen to any concerns you may have, offer advise where we can, and of course ensure the wedding dress of your dreams makes you feel like the very best version of yourself that you can be.
With that in mind, we wanted to take out the first little element of what could potentially be a cause of anxiety, and talk you through exactly what to expect when visiting Lief Bridal on the search for your perfect wedding dress.
We operate on an exclusive boutique appointment basis, giving you our sole attention for the duration. Appointment slots are 2 hours and we can comfortably accommodate 4 of your closest friends and family for your appointment. We would never say you can’t bring more, but we would ask that you consider carefully who you choose to bring along to your appointment as it can be incredibly overwhelming to have so many opinions. Some of the nicest appointments we’ve had in the boutique are those where the bride has visited alone, or with just one loved one and chosen a dress, then bought along the other special people she wants to share the experience with to the second appointment just to show them the dress, rather than help her choose.
You’ve Picked ‘The Dress’
Once you have chosen ‘the dress’ we have two purchase options available here at Lief …
Made to order
We will take all of your measurements, being careful to ensure that the size we’re ordering is the best possible fit. We feel it is really important to note here that you don’t get too caught up in the ‘number’. Bridal gowns often size up slightly differently to the high street so if we suggest you order a size you wouldn’t normally go to, trust that it will result in the most incredible fit, enabling you to look and feel amazing on your big day. To place an order, we require a 50% deposit and you will at that point enter into a contract with us, and us with the designer, to agree that the dress you are purchasing will be delivered on time and at the price agreed. The remainder of the balance can either be paid in instalments, or in full upon collection, whatever works best for you. Made to order dresses take around 16-20 weeks to be delivered and we ask that you allow a further 6 weeks for alterations.
Off the peg
Secondly, all of the dresses you see in the boutique are available to buy off the peg and are available with a discount from the price you would pay for a brand new made to order version. As they are off the peg, this option allows for a much quicker turnaround. In recent years we have seen a rise in popularity for weddings planned within the year which is why we began to offer all dresses off the peg. However, if your wedding is a little further away, and you simply love the dress and want it at the best price, we will happily store your dress free of charge, until you’re ready to collect!
Ready to Collect
As mentioned above, your dress will be stored at the boutique until you are invited to collect, usually 1-2 days before your wedding day. The dress will have been steamed and carefully packed to avoid creasing, so that the night before the wedding you can simply open up the garment bag and hang, ready to be worn the next morning.
Now You’re a Mrs!
Of course we know that once the excitement of the wedding and honeymoon has died down, you may not feel it necessary to visit a bridal boutique ever again! But we love seeing our brides once they’ve said their ‘I Do’s’, hearing all about the day itself and diving into some wedding photos over a cuppa… So if you do get chance, please do pop back and tell us all about it!
